The Citroën Ami is factory-limited to 45 km/h — software-side, not technically. The electric motor and control unit can do significantly more. With our software optimization, you get exactly that — with the Ami as well as with its sister models Fiat Topolino and Opel Rocks-e, which use the same technology.

Without opening — the crucial difference
The Ami's VCU3000 control unit sits behind the bumper and is permanently exposed to splashing water. Other providers drill a hole in the housing and then seal it with plastic — precisely where water gets in, precisely what destroys the water-sensitive ECU. We are the only provider worldwide that can read and write the VCU3000 via bench without opening the housing. The waterproof housing remains closed, IP protection remains intact.

Battery temperature: how to get the full VMAX
Top speed is a matter of battery temperature — pure physics, no software limitation. Full power is available from approx. 15 °C battery temperature. When cold, you start a little more moderately, and as soon as the battery reaches operating temperature, you get the full 80 km/h. Drive for a short while to warm up, then your Ami delivers.
