We recently had the pleasure of performing a VMAX lift at one of our partner shops on an impressive fourth generation Dodge Ram 1500. This powerful pickup truck comes standard with a speed limiter, which we removed through targeted adjustments to the GPEC2A ECU to unleash the vehicle's full potential.
The VMAX repeal process
VMAX removal is a demanding process that requires the utmost precision and extensive technical knowledge. In the case of this Dodge Ram 1500, we carefully opened the GPEC2A control unit and read out the existing software. The software was then modified to remove the factory speed limit. After processing, the control unit was re-installed and the vehicle is now ready to unleash its full potential on the road.
This type of tuning requires not only technical skill, but also experience and tact to ensure that the vehicle remains reliable and safe while enjoying its new-found freedom on the road.
What does the VMAX repeal mean for your vehicle?
By removing the speed limit, the Dodge Ram 1500 can now take full advantage of its engine's power without being held back by the factory limitation. This not only means more fun on the highway, but also improved overall performance that makes the Ram 1500 even more impressive.
