Our high-performance intercooler was specifically developed for the demanding 2.9-liter V6 biturbo engine (VW EA839) of the Audi RS4/RS5 models. It replaces the standard water-cooled intercooler and offers you a multitude of advantages.
With our innovative performance core, measuring 222 mm x 200 mm x 120 mm, we've increased the external core volume by an impressive 185%. The optimal ratio between inner and outer cooling surfaces ensures maximum heat transfer and optimal internal airflow. The cast aluminum end boxes were designed using CAD and perfected with the help of CFD simulations. The result is outstanding cooling properties with minimal backpressure. Our high-performance intercooler is therefore also ideally suited for racing and ensures optimal cooling of the charged air with a significant increase in performance.
For long-lasting and reliable cooling, all our Wagner Tuning intercoolers are equipped with a heat-conducting, anti-corrosion coating. Thanks to our detailed installation instructions, the system is easy to install and uses a plug-and-play process.

The 2.9L V6 twin-turbo engine in these models is equipped with an advanced indirect intercooling circuit. Unlike conventional systems, the charge air is cooled not by ambient air, but by a dedicated cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature therefore directly improves the cooling performance of the charge air. This is where the advantages of the Wagner Tuning Upgrade Water Cooler come into their own.
The newly developed Competition racing core of the Wagner Tuning high-performance radiator expands the radiator volume of the stock radiator by an impressive 55%. The optimized ratio between inner and outer cooling surfaces ensures maximum heat transfer while also ensuring sufficient airflow to adjacent components such as the engine radiator. Furthermore, the radiators are equipped with a heat-conducting, anti-corrosion coating that ensures long-term cooling.
