The 2.0-liter R4 turbo engine (M260.920) in the Mercedes AMG models deserves only the best when it comes to cooling capacity and performance. That's why we replaced the indirect intercooling circuit with our innovative Wagner Tuning high-performance intercooler to give you the ultimate driving experience.
With the innovative performance cooling core and dimensions of 287 mm x 185 mm x 115 mm, we have developed a high-performance intercooler specifically tailored to the demanding requirements of the AMG engine. Compared to the original cooler, it offers an impressive 154% more external core volume, ensuring maximum heat transfer and optimal internal airflow. Our cast aluminum end boxes were optimized using CAD technology and CFD simulations to ensure excellent cooling properties with minimal backpressure. This makes this kit perfect for racing, where optimal cooling of the charged air with a noticeable increase in power is crucial. Our Wagner Tuning intercoolers are equipped with a heat-conducting, anti-corrosion coating that ensures a lasting cooling effect and a long service life of the cooler. Installation of the system is simple and straightforward thanks to our detailed installation instructions (video) – a true plug & play experience.
Please note that the intercooler kit can only be installed in combination with our optimized air intake system. The original air intake system must be completely removed, as the intercooler is installed there. Our optimized air intake system is relocated to the right wheel house. This allows for short intake paths without major deflections. This system also includes a specially developed open sports air filter, which offers maximum filtration efficiency with minimal backpressure. With a connection diameter of 76 mm towards the turbocharger, which is adapted to the original turbocharger connection via a silicone hose, the air mass flow is increased by an impressive 50%. This improves the engine's responsiveness and results in a direct increase in performance.
