Many BMW models from 2020 onwards come with Bosch ECUs from the MDG1 / MG1 family locked ex works. With our Mail-in Unlock Service, we professionally unlock your engine control unit, preparing it for further tuning measures.
Note: You can purchase performance upgrades (e.g., Stage 1/Stage 2) or other tuning options separately from us and have them installed after the unlock.

Procedure:
For unlocking, the ECU must be removed and sent to us. After the unlock, we will promptly return the control unit so that it can be reinstalled and reused.
Pre-check (recommended):
Please identify your control unit in advance via Bench Identification (ECU type/hardware/software) so that we can confirm suitability unequivocally.
Alternatively, we can check suitability for you after receiving the ECU.
Processing Time:
Processing usually takes three business days after receipt of goods (depending on delivery/goods receipt).
Important Note:
Depending on the initial state, the control unit may be reset to factory settings during the unlock process. If a previous calibration/software adjustment was present, it may be permanently lost.
Note for vehicles with two control units:
Applies per ECU. If your vehicle has two control units, the service is required separately for each unit.
Tool Compatibility:
The usability after unlocking depends on your tool/setup. General compatibility with all third-party tools cannot be guaranteed.
